1852 Year of Maestrani's foundation
Aquilino Maestrani (1814-1880) founds his chocolate factory in Lucerne.
1875 Move to St. Gallen
The emerging textile city of St. Gallen promised Maestrani a steady demand throughout the year.
1936 Minor appears on the Swiss market
Minor chocolate bar with extra hazelnuts is launched.
1997 Takeover of Munz
Maestrani Schweizer Schokoladen AG takes over Munz AG in Flawil and relocates its headquarters there.
2017 Opening of the Chocolarium experience world
At the Chocolarium, the happiness factory of Munz and Minor, visitors gain a unique behind-the-scenes insight into chocolate production and learn on the interactive tour how happiness finds its way into the chocolate.
2022 Anniversary
Maestrani celebrates its 170th anniversary with a jubilee event in St. Gallen.
2022 Acquisition of Avelines
With the acquisition of Avelines, we expand our premium segment with a praline specialty rich in tradition.
2025 Acquisition of Chocolat Ammann
With the acquisition of Chocolat Ammann and their chocolate kisses, as well as the relocation of production from Heimberg to Flawil, we are sustainably strengthening our expertise in Swiss chocolate manufacturing.
Today
Maestrani is a modern chocolate factory that produces over 300 different products and welcomes more than 230,000 visitors to the Chocolarium each year.
